MISC COLLAGE - Gallery 2

'INSPIRATION'

Picture
Another 'positive project' - Using Inspirational words.

Materials used:

140mm x 200mm wooden block 12mm thickness, magazine words, soft (gloss) gel medium.

'OUT OF THE DARKNESS'

Picture
My first go at using moulding compound.  It is great stuff to work with.  White compound, good texture, dries nice and hard, easy surface texture to apply paint over.

This is my eldest daughter Kayla, and when she showed me this photo of herself, the first thing I said was that there was a piece of art in that photo.

Sometimes we go through 'rough spots' during our lives, they say there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and so this piece is representative of Kayla coming out of her dark tunnel.

I thank her for allowing me to share this piece with who ever sees it.

Materials used:
8" x 8" black print canvas with 1 1/2" edge, black paper for collage layering round photo and edges, moulding compound, black acrylic paint, soft (gloss) gel medium, photograph of subject.

'THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE'

Picture
The eternal romantic I am - so taking a polystyrene heart, cutting it in half vertically to give it a flat base.  Covered in layers of traditional, paper on paper collage.  Fixed to canvas base and the word 'Love' in a varitey of languages round all four sides of the canvas.

Materials used:
4" x 4" canvas, black acrylic paint, 70mm polystyrine heart, magazine paper (red tone for heart), gold alphabet stickers, soft (gloss) gel medium, aryldite glue, chroma gloss finish varnish.
